A drug capable of preventing and combating cytokine storm, an inflammatory response associated with infections such as COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lapuente publishes the positive results of his research in one of the chapters of the book <em>Purinergic System<\/em> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intechopen.com\/books\/10801\">IntechOpen<\/a>, the world&#8217;s leading publisher of open access books for scientists.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal of the Peaches Biotech group is presented in this publication, under the title &#8220;.<em>Immunomodulatory effects of an M2 conditioned medium (PRS\u00ae CK STORM): Theory on the possible complex mechanism of action through anti-inflammatory modulation of the TLR system and the purinergic system&#8221;.  <\/em>  It is a biological therapy based on the use of an allogeneic conditioned medium derived from M2 macrophages, whose manufacturing base is the co-culture of adult mesenchymal stem cells from fat and allogeneic, with M2 macrophages.<\/p>\n<p>Mesenchymal stem cells, placed in co-culture with macrophages, not only respond to macrophages and adjust their secretome accordingly, but also induce macrophages to respond to them, creating a feedback loop that contributes to immune regulation.<\/p>\n<p>PRS\u00ae CK STORM opens the way to a new anti-inflammatory treatment that is presented as a solution to the worldwide problem of severe infectious processes.<\/p>\n<p>In the words of Pedro Lapuente: &#8220;<em>the language with which immune cells communicate with the different tissues <\/em> <em>shows<\/em> us <em>a way to find new drugs, of biological origin, of great importance as immunomodulators, anti-inflammatories and tissue regenerators<\/em><em>&#8220;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In his chapter of the book, Dr. Lapuente highlights the extreme need that exists today for an immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory drug that is capable of fighting the effects of the cytokine storm associated with infections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intechopen.com\/predownload\/81681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Link to download the chapter<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that cytokine storm, associated with severe infectious processes, is a serious global health problem for which there is no effective drug for treatment?
